Find your
fit, with care.
Sizing varies between brands and styles, so use this chart as a general guide. For the best fit, measure yourself with a tape and refer to our centimeter or inch charts rather than relying solely on country size equivalents.
Bodies are beautifully varied. When sizing sits between two, size up for ease — a tailor can bring a garment in, but can't let it out beyond its seams.
Four habits for an honest measurement.
Wear what you'll wear
Put on the undergarments and support pieces you plan to wear with the outfit. Measuring over them keeps the numbers true to how the garment will sit.
Use a fresh tape
Old tapes stretch and mislead. Line yours up against a ruler — if the inches and centimeters match, you're good to go.
Relax, don't hold
Don't suck in or hold your breath. Keep your arms down and your body at rest. A friend can help you keep the tape parallel and level.
Snug, not tight
The tape should be just snug enough to lie flat against you. Overlap the ends neatly and read where they meet — no pulling.
Around the fullest part
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level across your back.
Just above the belly button
Find the natural crease when you bend sideways. Measure there — not where jeans usually sit.
Around the widest point
Stand with your feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

When you're between two.
If you fall between sizes, always choose the larger one. A small amount of ease is easy to take in with a few stitches. A piece that's too tight can't give you back what the pattern didn't leave.
Alternative undergarments — smoothing shorts, a supportive bralette — can also help close small gaps without altering the garment.
“If your bust and waist are a 4, but your hips measure a 6 — order the 6. A loose bust is a half-hour tailor visit. A tight hip is a missed occasion.”
